Tutoring Services
The Science Success Center (SSC) is excited about offering free
tutoring services for Mission students in spring 2011. Drop-In
Tutoring, Group Tutoring Sessions and workshops are offered
throughout the semester for Biology, Chemistry, Astronomy (limited
hours), Physics, Anatomy (limited hours), and Microbiology (limited
hours).
Drop-In tutoring is for those who want to see a tutor right away,
who prefer to study with other students in a social environment, or
who want to ask questions while studying on their own. Group
Tutoring Sessions are for group of 4-6 students. Groups may meet
once or twice a week to review lesson materials, explain concepts
and engage in discussions. A tutor will be assigned to guide the
group.
The SSC is also offering a variety of workshops such as “How to
Study Biology,” “Problem solving techniques,” “Review for Midterm or
Final,” “Basic Algebra for Chemistry Students” and some more coming
up. The workshop schedule will be announced soon or a workshop can
be requested for certain classes at certain times. At least one week
notice is preferred.
Encourage your students to spend a couple of hours in the Science
Success Center to keep up or catch up their best scores.
